ClosetMaid and Invel diversify Lake Nona’s business cluster

New ventures are moving to Lake Nona, further diversifying business into the planned Orlando community. ClosetMaid Corp., a home storage company, and Brazilian-based Invel, which creates bioceramic and far-infrared clothing, are the new firms about to install their headquarters in Lake Nona.

According to an article in Orlando Business Journal, ClosetMaid will move its corporate headquarters to the community and take 13,000 square feet on two floors at Town Center Office II in Lake Nona Town Center. The relocation of industrial headquarters, currently based in Ocala, Marion County, is not defined yet.

The ClosetMaid’s representative declined to comment, and Orlando-based developer Tavistock Development Co., Lake Nona’s developer, could not be reached for comment, according to OBJ.

Brazilian-based Invel manufactures bioceramic and far-infrared clothing

Invel is moving its global headquarters to the GuideWell Innovation Center in Lake Nona. The office will start with 10 employees, while the remaining 50 stay in Brazil to manufacture far-infrared clothing. There are plans to hire more employees in Orlando later this year.

The products manufactured by Invel help with blood flow, chronic muscle pain and cell repair. The possibility of exchange of knowledge and experience was one of the reasons that drew the company to Lake Nona’s Medical City. “We chose Lake Nona’s Medical City because of the cluster of medical professionals in the area – this is honestly the best place for our company,” said Omayria Ayala, sales coordinator for Invel, to OBJ.

Lake Nona’s Medical City is one of the most important destinations in the world when it comes to innovation and technology in health and medicine. Institutions such as VA Medical Center, Nemours Children’s Hospital, the University of Central Florida Health Sciences Campus, and UF Research & Academic Center are on-site.
